Anyone else ordered this model? Mine's due in about a month. Can't find too much info/reviews about the newest model. According to the figures it should be pretty awesome.

Yeah I've ordered it, should be arriving in the next month ish although my volvo keeps changing the date!!

I haven't found to many, the ones above mainly and one in what I'm guessing is Dutch so no good for me!!

I popped in to my dealers today as I know one had been delivered just so I could have a little look, got to say I am really disappointed with the removal of the illuminated gear stick, it's definitely gone and the new one is not to pretty!!

Gonna have words with the dealer as we as a family have ordered 3 V40's all at the same time and will all be delivered roughly the same time, we have had no communication about it so think it's a little wrong

That d4 is a quick little car! I think the 8 sp auto from what I've read it's a very good box.

There is a good xc60 review with the new engine

I think volvo are making the best Diesel engines now, with possible exception of BMW for out right power.

Have you driven a new D4 V40?

The three V40's you have ordered - are they all D4? Which dealer did you go with? Trust you got a good deal?

I think the illuminated gear stick is now an option at £50

Regards

Hi,

No I've only driven the D2, was impressed even with that but couldn't resist the 190 BHP!!!

We have ordered three R-designs, a red D2 with winter pack, a white D4 with winter pack and a rebel blue D4 with nav, on call, reverse sensors and cruise (mr car!)

We got a really good deal, used www.drivethedeal.co.uk to get a good price then took that in to the dealer to the price, plus a few extra bits on top!

We used lee aspin at TMS volvo in Coventry

In that article it says V40 does not hold its value well. All the ones I have recently seen have held their prices really well, often being more expensive second hand than the competition.

Good evening

I picked my rebel blue V40 up a few days a go (Saturday) and have loved every second of it upto now, it take reminds me of my beloved C30.

The new 190 BHP engine is brilliant, amazingly quiet, responsive and smooth, I haven't opened it up completely yet but a little over take today made me smile!!

The new gear stick isn't that bad, it still illuminates which is the main thing and in all reality probably shows the coloured lights from above a little better due to its darker colour.

I'm really impressed with the satnav, much easier to use after you have got used to it and some good little features built in with it.

On call is a must, yes it's a bit gimmicky and I haven't figured out how to start the engine remotely yet, but I have used it loads, I don't think the door opening will be used thwt much, the tracking aspect is very good and all the safety and security add ons are very reassuring, especially with a young family.

However the best thing of the app is finding your destination on the app and sending it to your satnav, when you get in and start the car it pings up asking if you want to navigate to it, love it!!

I was getting my XC60 serviced at the weekend, and whilst waiting around, looked at some V40/XC40 brochures.

What's the story with the different engine specs for the 190 BHP V40 and XC40.

When I looked at the brochures, the V40 was under 100g co2 and thus zero road tax, whereas the XC40 was beyond 100g. Also the V40 was quicker and had better fuel economy. They were within 1-20 Kgs of each other.

Why the difference, on what is a brand new engine.
