I know what the op means, depends on how you use the handles.

Re the parcel shelf, where abouts are we talking here? I had a look yesterday and could not see any real sharp elements?

Dealership rep, like you, hadn't heard of the pinching problem but now that I've demonstrated he agrees. He is contacting Volvo engineer. I'm not holding my breath, though, on a possi outcome from Volvo.

Just had a look at the parcel shelf and I agree with you. Volvo should recall.
In the interim, I'll get some fine U shaped rubber edging and attach.

This keeps happening to my other half.....

If you have your hand close to the part of the handle that the key would normally go in you get your hand pinched....i hold the handle in the centre, no issues.

No problem if the handle is held on or near to centre. It's only when releasing the handle from an acute angle near to the docking position that the issue arises. However, it looks as though a reduced-strength spring is in the offing.

Rear Parcel shelf. Rubber edging arrived today and now fitted. 100% fix!!!

Here's the ebay link:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1216680176...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The 1 metre length is sufficient.
