Bit battered so it's not had an easy life, and the price is a tad high too.
Also, while not directly about the car. If the photo's were taken in the garage below the embassy they just showed the world at least three embassy connected registration plates

Hmm, not sure that being a year or so newer, having the 3.2 engine/geartronic and low mileage make it worth £5700 more than our 190k manual D5...
Doesn't look like they're making much of an effort to sell it either, blurry photos of an unwashed car showing 10c on the temp display suggesting they were taken months ago... Rusty discs from standing on the pics with sunshine... Nah, we'll stick with our ex-taxi for now (I'd much rather have a car that's been in constant use than one that's sat a lot, this could still have many age related issues that have not been addressed yet as they haven't shown with the low usage, and the overall condition doesn't warrant a premium either IMO).

Many (many!) years ago a workmate of mine won, at auction, a really nice, really cheap, Mercedes from the South African embassy in London.
When he finally got hold of it, it weighed in at nearly four tons. It had windows that couldn't open, doors that were solid and bomb proof floors and roof. He did say that if he drove it 'nicely' he could average around 10mpg! Had really good interior ventilation system too. Perhaps this Volvo comes with some interesting mods? |

I was thinking the same thing, it's probably got bulletproof doors! Would be interesting to view it and see if theres anything unusual. That US embassy auction site has been in the press so the prices will be stupid and then the winning bidders won't pay....
