Default Fuel door does not locked automatically

Hi,

I face new problem for my xc90 2003, the fuel door does not locked automatically after door close. Unlock is fine, after I press 'fuel' button, the plastic pin is pulling back and door is unlocked. But when I close the door, pin is not pulling out to lock it.

I disassemble, clean and put grease on solenoid motor following videos in youtube, still not work. Manual pulling out is smoothly.

Which part triggers the pin pull out? is there any sensor to detect door close and trigger pin pull out or something else?

Thanks.

Susan

Does the door lock at all? - There is a time delay of several minutes before the door locks automatically after it is closed.

I fell for that one! Forgot I locked the car and went to put some injector cleaner into the tank and found the flap open with car locked. Assumed broken and followed procedure described in this forum to solder pins on motor (mine had detached but likely because I took motor apart?) and then panicked as still not working. Left in disgust to find later had locked!

Must be at least 10 minutes if not longer before fuel flap secured after car locked - I Googled reason for this to find this allows car to be fuelled up with it locked; probably for US customers. Not sure the value of this as I always either carry or hide my mobile phone as too many times had window glass smashed to grab something from car.

Is this is of any real value here in the UK - not convinced myself as leads us into believing the bloody fuel flap lock is not working

I checked it next morning, still unlocked. So I am curious what trigger lock action (pin pull out)?

I think the timing can be adjusted in Vida, mine locks as soon as the car starts moving.

While there, mine also just went kaput. Do you still get the message on the DIM that the door has locked? Maybe the headlight switch module got lazy a little, I'd try a used unit from the breakers.
