Default 2006 Volvo V70 d5 183 no boost and engine service required

hi, just wondering if anyone can help, the car blew of the pipe to the turbo, and managed to get under the car, noticed it blown of, put it back on, but now its in limp mode with engine service required, and no boost, also the car has no change in drive with or without the map sensor unplugged, is that a possible problem, also the car now sounds really loud from the exhaust, like a deep rumble noise, thanks

Have you got a OBD2 code reader if not and you have a android phone/tablet
get a Bluetooth obd2 unit, and download the torque app,
and you can then see if the MAP sensor is working,
it will read atmosphere pressure with the engine not running but key on,
and you can clear and read most of the engine codes/data,
you my need to use vida or icarsoft 906 reader , for Volvo codes that std readers will not read, but try a obd2 reader,
Dave

The pipe that was blown off is the resonator pipe/box.
On the inside are rubber seals on either end if these are leaking they can cause the issues that you are having .
You can purchase a aftermarket pipe that fits in it place .
I have one in the garage for when mine goes south .

i have got a code reader, have checked has not got that function, yeah the pipe that connects to the turbo facing upwards, keeps slipping out, so it looks tight, but the rubber ring is sticking out, quite a bit, is this possibly the problem

New gaskets help, just a fiver each from main dealers, semi permanent fix is to drill through the resonator, gasket and then the discharge pipe then use a self tapper to secure the three together.
My son's car had this feature, not sure if it comes from the factory like that though.

thanks for the advice, ill try Volvo for the circle rubber gasket, also with the no power problem, i put a bottle of redex before a long drive, and the power started coming back when the fuel had gone down, can this mean the fuel filter needs a change?

Mine blew the same pipe off at Christmas after it was parked up for over a week.
It threw up multiple codes, egr etc etc.
I refitted the pipe after carefully cleaning it and refitting the seals but my engine service fault would not clear without Vida and Dice to clear all codes, the standard code reader wouldn't do it?

If you put any sort of cleaner in the tank I would change the fuel filter now, use Mann or Volvo for quality, also worth getting some liqui moly injector cleaner purge and filling the fuel filter cup with it as you refit the thing. You then get a short burst of cleaning solvent through the injectors. I wouldn't put any cleaning additives in the tank after previous problems on another car.

Where about N Devon are you, Barum?

Just a thought the pipe has a fixing clamp that you need to reach over the crossmember to reach it, you can't just push it on, it needs to be loosened off to fit then clamped up when fitted.
If you need a Vida code read or reset give me a shout.
