At the moment the turbo had no failed, but having changed the oil and filter I am a little concerned as the filter was totally dirty and blocked on the wife's V50, 1.6d (110/10p bhp).

So as preventive I figured I should take the sump off, clean it up and replace the pickup, replace the turbo inlet and outlet hoses and check for any carbon build up etc...

1. Does the sump pan just drop off, any special tricks required?

2. Does the sump pan have a gasket or just use sealant? Again what special specs for the sealant and is it applied as a thin bead around the inner edge?

3. Where did you get the new oil feed lines / banjos (with/without filter?), standard volvo parts - ?

4. Did you have any problems with the injector seals? It looks as if there is/was a leak around on the inner injectors (third from left looking from front), but I could not hear any obvious sound of a leak

Any hints/special tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for all the questions ... but wife's gonna be devastated if anything goes wrong

Cheers
Russell

I cant believe why psa has a fine extra filter before the turbo
Because the filtered out contaminants will block the oilflow
The normal oilfilter will take care of oilfiltering and has lots more margin for dirt pickup and still enough oilflow

Besides many other engines dont have the turbo filter either and function perfectly

Best is to leave the turbo oilfilter out AND lower the oildrain interval substantialy below psa recommendations to prevent sludge buildup
