Damn, what does Engine system service required mean please?
I didn't have enough oil yesterday, it was just touching the dipstick so I was hoping it meant low on oil, now topped it off and I'm still getting that, I am sure all cables are back on, I mean, there was only 3 that I remember, 2 big connectors on that ecu thingy and the maf, this is why I do not do stuff like this, knew it was a bad idea.... and no, I don't have the dice tool yet, damn seller on ebay pretended they are in the Netherlands, so ya can guess where its coming from.....

Having looked over the PDF a few more times i think i sort of get it but still struggling with some what,

I think its saying to create a long length of pipe from the
It says to

Remove oil cooler return line from transmission

Remove oil cooler return line from the oil cooler

Reinstall the return line to the oil cooler pointing up and out of the area? Correct?

Attach hose to make it longer to catch the oil? Correct?

So, from that the oil will drain from the newly extended hose BUT, what about the opening we created when we remove the oil return line from the transmission? do we now have 2 drainage points? so i need to buy another drainage oil pan?

Also any one have any thoughts on the Engine System Service Required message please?

BTW, just ordered 20L

AFAIK "engine system service required" will mean that there is a fault code logged in the ECU (possibly other modules??) but could point to any number of things, it's NOT the annual service message.
If you have a generic reader, you may be able to pick up the code as a standard OBD reader, like Torque or similar, should be able to read the ECU but not necessarily the other modules.

Thanks for the reply, I think it must have been cause the oil was too low as the message has now gone, I had to use the car, I'm in a village so my only transport, only just long enough to get the gearbox warm enough to show me that it's a lot worse than it was before, so no more using it and will use the full 20L flushing the bugger out

Now realised that when the return hose is removed no oil will come out the gearbox as its the return hose, that will come from the cool, face palm emoji needed.

Could someone please advise what size diameter hose i need please and should i just get one long enough to go in to the cooler outlet (seen that done) or still use the return hose?

Just transferred my waste oil in to a 25L container, i did both the GB and engine oil and when i'd finished, there was some bits in there not a lot but bit like a few bits of sugar stuck to the top of ya cup, i had to use what containers i hd and had to mix some else i couldnt empty the drain pan at the time, i will make a point of checking it this time though, stuff should be here tomorrow, but more like later on, i never get it early, so prob looking at Wednesday afternoon for the next update of this sad saga..

Just one more question if i may, am i to expect the gearbox to act up somewhat before it settles down after ive done it? If so, how many miles am i looking at, should i drive it very steady (i do anyway, costs a bomb in fuel lol) etc, etc....?
