Exclamation NEW Member with Car Problems Seeking Help Please

Hello all,

Nice lot of cars in the gallery I will say.

Really need some help without visiting a Volvo main dealer and needing to re-mortgage please.

Purchased two Volvo C30 2.4 D5 R Design models, with one of them (2009 09) having serious intermittent power. In low gears it is really slow? Same scenario of overtaking you could be lucky one minute and the full power seems there but the next minute when overtaking, I believe it could run quicker! No warning lights on the dashboard.

Help much appreciated with your thoughts and where to go from here please.

Regards,

John

First off, I'd suggest posting in the C30 section where you'll get a lot more attention!

Secondly have you had a code read to see if there are any nasties recorded?

At a complete guess it sounds like you have a slight rip/tear/hole in one of your boost pipes or intercooler or pipes. It may be small or under a jubilee clip or in a fold/bend in a pipe that is only showing itself under load (boosting).

I'd certainly give the pipework a good going over.

I'd see if the piping could be pressurized. And then use a torch and squirty (water with soap) to see if any bubbles are visible.

What gearbox does the C30 have?

Thank you all.

It is a 6 speed manual gear box which has covered 52,000 miles.
