Are there some know areas for this that can be rectified?

Love the car but coming from a 10 year old lexus rx that never had a rattle in all that time, im a little disappointed to be honest.

Appreciate if there are known areas that need silicon or tightening up or whatever.......

Cheers......
The load cover creaks in my XC60, it's really annoying. Not had any rattling though.

Default XC60 noises / ride quality

I too have minor noises to report, but nothing that I'm too upset over.

I just bought a 2009 XC60 D5- 74,000km one owner car. It's in very good condition but I notice that the drivers door trim has some fretting / squeaking noise, the front passenger's seatbelt buckle rattles on the trim (it's a RHD vehicle) but most annoyingly the passengers seat when empty rattles when going over a bumpy road - almost feels like something might be a bit loose in seat frame or mountings so I have to have a check next weekend. And oh yes, the electric taligate makes a squeaking sound as it opens from the opening mechanism so need to see about lubricating that. (Lithium grease?)

I reckon Volvo's cunning idea on the D5 variant is to make the harsh note of the diesel engine loud enough to block out most of these minor annoying noises!

Overall, I'm really pleased with the ride quality - almost as good as our much loved 940 wagon that we had when the kids were young. I always thought the 850s and earlier generation V70s / XC70s were too harsh riding and the XC60 is just right for me.

Default Bonnet open

The bonnet open warning light has come on, on my 65k mile 59 reg XC60. It started by setting the alarm off and then progressed into the lights on the dash so I ended up driving down the motorway with the dash going mad telling me the bonnet was up when it clearly wasn't!

Went to the garage, the part is £50, fitting is 1 hours labour at £100!!!

Unfortunately they couldn't do the work as the part is on back order... There must be a few more of you out there who have had a similar problem.

A week with ours and I must admit it has more creaking and squeaking than C3PO , the morning after being left out in the rain. I went round prodding panels and bits and everything had its own noise !! Glad I have premium sound to cancel the racket !! Should really be better than it is.

Default Throttle body frequency failure

Engine system service request light came on. Diagnostics said a high and low frequency error on the throttle body. Now at the local dealers and is blowing fuses for a pastime.

Problem confirmed as a short circuit in the wiring loom - something to do with a dodgy bulkhead pin connector that was causing a short. All seems fine after 24 hrs.

Thumbs down ABS, Traction Control and City Safety

Anti-lock breaking and traction control warning light came on the day it was delivered 6 months or so ago. Was in for 3 days last week and still not fixed so hopefully going back in this week. Also City Safety failure light comes on constantly, which they also didn't fix. Not great for a car that's done 1300 miles.
