Ayrshire - John McGarry retires
Couldn't see another reference to this, or a good place to post - mods feel free to move.
John McGarry MIMI, an independent Volvo mechanic in Ayrshire for over 25 years, retired on December 20th 2018. I believe he was previously a service manager for a local Volvo dealership before it closed. John's been an invaluable source of service, help and advice to me for 24 years, on a 740, P1 V70, 960, 940, 850, and a P2 V70, at his various workshops around Ayr. I'll miss him. There's pleasure in running one or two of the same make of cars for a long time, but one risk is that the good non-dealer people can retire!

Thanks for the update Alan; I wasn't aware.
John was previously Service Manager at the Ayr Volvo Dealer when it was in Burns Statue Square (must be about 25 years ago now.) Will send you details of another couple of specialists who can help of required. Cheers |
