light
That is the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) and means there is a fault code posted in the on board diagnostics for the engine management system.
Malfunction indicator lamp "If the lamp comes on (or stays on after the vehicle has started), the engine diagnostic system has detected a possible fault in the emission control system. Although driveability may not be affected, see an authorized Volvo retailer as soon as possible for inspection. "

Thanks everybody for the help, S60 driver thanks for those drawings but none seem to be like the light on mine
Its a orange background with a green triangle with two black lines in it, it came on after some up and down roads? Ive done just over 150 miles in the car and it was okay except the service light stops on for a few minutes then goes off, apparantly the fomer owner got something of ebay to stop the light comming on but it did'nt work |

OK then the car will be OBDII compliant, a code reader can be purchased for about £30.
Here's one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/A30-EOBD-OBD2-...QQcmdZViewItem I would suggest you invest in one and read the fault code(s). Or most garages will have the correct equipment. If you post back the fault code information (number) we will be able to give you better informed advice. |
