aha, Bluetooth OBD bought but not reading anything from the car. Annoyingly I cannot see the status LEDs on the bluetooth box as they face the pedals...
Time to get the tools out.

Yes you won't see the lights, but if you wiggle the box you should find it gets powered-up & then it can connect to your smartphone via bluetooth.

Are you sure you've pushed it in far enough so it connects to the socket?

Default OBD2 device for V90 1997

I now have both the ELM 327 and Streetwise OBD2 devices. I am not sure which is likely to be best, but it seems the ELM device is bluetooth and requires a computer (smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC) to read the faults etc. Whereas the Streetwise device obtained from Euro Parts gives a readout, but cannot send details to a computer as it is not bluetooth. I'll hang on to both and see how they do although at the moment I do not have a fault as far as I know!. There is no usb socket on the Streetwise one so cannot see how data can be sent to a computer. If anyone knows how it can I'd be grateful for this information.

As above all I did was buy the two items from ebay and the dongle styled one connected to my phone via a free app over bluetooth. That read all the relevant codes and would clear them too.

If you've got the ELM version I purchased then you should find that the above steps work for you too.

Not sure what's up with what you've got?
