Default Mspeed chip-tuning - should remove?

After I bought the car, I've noticed that there is MSpeed chip tuning block installed. Now I have to either register it (as the previous owner most likely did not register it) or remove it (as I see that in reality the car eats more fuel than it is declared, I believe it is because of this thing).

So the questions are:
1. Do you think I should remove it or leave it?
2. Do you know if I can remove it myself at all?
3. Do you know if I can just deactivate it temporary to see the difference?

Overall I'm very skeptical to any chip-tuning things, as I fear that this might influence on engine and gearbox resource.. Am I right or I should not bother?

If it's like any other derv tuning box, it'll be plugged into the fuel system, between the loom and the pressure sensor (I think). just unplug it at both ends and reconnect the sensor to the loom.
The ECU might play up for a few minutes but it'll sort itself out after a bit of a drive.

The thing is that the official mspeed website says that the unit is available both as an "additional control unit" + as a "motoric adjustment".. Therefore I don't know if it might break anything after just being removed.. Should the engine be reprogrammed manually after?

Naah... just disconnect it and plug the 2 remaining wires back into each other, where they belong.

It might spit it's dummy at first but it'll sort itself out.
