This car is very cheap, a genuine bargain. Compare it to others of the same age and mileage on autotrader etc.

SOD IT.... First £1000 takes it, but only selling it to an enthusiast. NO traders thanks. I know what the trade value of this car is, and I just went below it by £150.

Hi

Great looking car, I currently have an 850 estate and have been thinking about changing to one of these and my son can have the 850 as I am loath to let it leave the family. Can you tell me what the actual running costs are like with this car please?

Cheers

Apart from the governments rip off tax disc charge of £270pa the running costs are really quite low. Obviously I am basing this on you doing your own maintenance! Parts are not that expensive and in the years it has been in the family it has proved to be extremely reliable. It passed the mot with 2 advisories: rear exhaust corroded and 2 back tyres. I personally will advise that who ever ends up with the car replace the front pads as they are low. (about 30 quid for pads).
As for petrol consumption, in the short time I used the car I was getting an average of 39mpg. I dont drive slowly either!! The reason for this above average mpg is it has been custom tuned/optimised. It still runs standard boost pressure but the torque curve has been altered. It is much more responsive than a standard car and a bit quicker. It also uses less fuel! Big claims I know but also truth. Tectronics in bradford did the remap.

Tectronics in Bradford have now renamed themselves and are known as "Rolling Road Tuning Centre" for those of you wishing to investigate this company. They have now custom tuned three volvos for me, all with good results. http://rollingroadtuningcentre.co.uk/index.html
