Default Housing clearance for main beam bulbs

Hi all,

Bit of an odd question, but does anybody know how much clearance there is between the back of the H9 main beam bulb and the inner face of the headlight unit cover?

I'm looking to fit some 'compact' LED bulbs in there but the back of the LED unit is about 10mm deeper than a conventional H9 halogen bulb.

I'm hoping to take the headlamp units out at the weekend anyway as I'm swapping the Xenon bulbs so I can have a proper look and report back, but I just wondered if anybody knew straight away that anything other than a standard H9 won't fit.
