Hi,

I would inspect throttle first, to make sure it is not dirty or stuck. Easy and costs nothing. Well, maybe £5 can of carb cleaner. As for shaking - it again may be related to throttle, rough or erratic idle can cause that, multiplied quite possibly by effect of worn out engine mount. I had it in my car, now it is all nice and smooth.
That said, nothing beats checking the car with Vida first...

Hope this helps.

Here's the guide written by forum member:

There are also gazilion tutorials on youtube. Ford Focus Mk2 petrol uses the same engine, so worth looking for them also.

Tried this and still the same,a mate who knows a bit more than me about cars seems to think it is the clutch as the bite is high and gear changes ain't smooth,do the 2.0 petrol have dmf?

Yup they all have a Dual Mass Flywheel. My clutch's biting point is relatively high but it's smooth and doesn't seem down on power, I have also changed the gearbox (torque) mount though.

I would suggest getting it on VIDA, but at the same time if there was an internal problem in the engine you'd expect the engine light to come on..

I have fixed the power issue turns out whoever fitted the air filter didn't fit it correctly and it was taking in too much air,but still have a bit of a shaky idle even after cleaning throttle body and fixing air filter.
