Default How quickly does the battery charge + other?

I'm about to install a dashcam in my 2019 V90CC and the parking mode may run until the battery hits 11.6v.

Firstly is this a safe voltage to go down to without damaging the battery and will I have any issues with starting?

If ok would it be ok to repeatedly do this?

Also how quickly would the battery charge to full after going to 11.6v? I do quite a few small journeys so am worrying it may not charge enough.

I have my BlackVue set to switch off at 12v. It turned itself off yesterday afternoon, after three days on the driveway.

Like you, I have only done short journeys; the last three were 3,4 and 8 miles respectively.

I doubt it will affect the battery that much, although someone her would be able to tell you for sure.

Thanks. The official hardwire kit has options 11.8v, 12.0v, 12.2v and 12.4v but looks like it will be a pain to install and remove come service time. Another forum member has linked to an OBD power cable which has 5 minutes after ignition or dow to 11.6v settings.

I would like to use parking mode but was concerned 11.6 may be a bit on the low side given what I've read elsewhere and that most wiring kits don't seem to go to this.

The safe MINIMUM voltage for a lead acid battery and no matter what some may say the AGM (absorbed glass matting) batteries fitted to to Volvos are not true AGM is 12 .1 v , about 50% charge. Even then leaving a LA battery at 50% charge will have significant impact on the life of the battery. Google dedicated sites on the matter remembering that car AGM batteries are not true AGMs
