Default passanger heated seat failure (440)

Hi guys,

The passenger heated seat has stopped working in my 440 latter model (1994) L Reg.

Anyone know of a fix, even if its for a 480?

If the wiring is receiving current at the seat connector then the heatingmat itself is broken. Easy to solder it back together again, not so easy to remove the clothing to get at it. The clothing is stapled to the seatframe with special big clothing staples which you have to cut to remove them. The're special clothing pliers on the market to put the new staples in place. It can also be done with normal pliers, that'll take some patience, cursing and time though!

oh joy i had a feeling you were going to say that.

I slapped a multimeter across the elements connector to check continuity, and received the dreaded '1' on the left hand side which means no resistance, so its broken somewhere.

I shall look at removing the seat later on and seeing how bog a job it is to pull it apart.

Just saw a simple solution for replacing the staples. Just use tiewraps instead of the staples. Works a treat, no excuses anymore to repair the heated seat in my 480!
