1800E being sold by collectcars.com auction
Does anyone know of the yellow 1971 1800E which is being sold by auction?
Claimed to have only done 26,000 miles and fully restored 22 years ago, The photos look good and it appears to have a strong history. At Friday evening bids had reached £15,750. Auction finishes on Monday evening. |

I think it must be this one? Its a decent car but the more you look at the pics the more faults you see including filler in places you wouldn't expect to find it unless the car was pretty rough at one time in its life. Still the vendor has been honest enough to show a lot of the flaky bits. I like what he's done with the wheels, they normally look terrible without the beauty rings.

Sold for £26,600. Well over the top in my humble opinion.

Artistically photographed and enhanced to minimise the paint faults. Lots of orange peel. Another £2k in the paint shop would help it. Hopefully the buyer actually viewed the car otherwise I think he will be a little disappointed.

I don't think its harsh - that car has cracking bubbling and sinking filler in several places including the flat panels either side of the rear window. When a P1800 has rotted there (one of the last places they go) then its been a very rusty car at some stage in its life and clearly not repaired properly.

Here's another 1800E coming to auction, this one looks to be in good honest condition from the photos. Auction is in Runcorn on 20th November and this car has a local Cheshire registration too, so possibly a local car.
Estimate seems reasonable at £28 to £32k. https://auctions.manorparkclassics.c...pp=48&pn=1&g=1 |

hard to know based on the photos released so far....
Showing inside boot without a look at the engine bay seems a bit a*** about face. Wonder how much history to be revealed... |
