Volvo V40 R Design LUX Alarm
Morning all,
Earlier in the year I purchased a 2015 Volvo V40 - stunning car but besides the point. In the first couple of months, the alarm sounded maybe 3/4 times at night (how typical...) - I thought nothing of it as we have alot of cats in the area and assumed it was just a sensitive alarm. Then nothing for months, until this week when the alarm sounded during the night again and also twice during the day (I had been under the bonnet just 5 mins before, related?) I'm a tad concerned if this is frequency is normal and for no apparent reason. The car is at 130K. Should I be worried in case this starts to escalate? MTIA |

You can replace the battery inside the module, but you need to cut open the old siren unit to access the battery. If there’s corrosion inside on the circuit board, then don’t just replace the battery. You’ll need a new siren module in that instance.

I had this happen intermittently with mine, it was the bonnet open warning switch falsely reporting the bonnet open when it wasn't.
It was always worse if I had been topping up the washer fluid or checking the oil. I found a liberal spraying of WD40 seemed to cure the issue. Hope that helps |
