Those Febi ones do look perfect..

I went to see Volvo parts man again today and he gave me a handful of unused originals he had in stock - free too, which is always a bonus.

You can tell they haven't been 'abused' by impact guns because the little grooves on the front face edges are hardly visible. On mine they are well worn in.

The outers are so tight they are an iffy fit on the 19mm brace from the Volvo toolkit or even a socket.

The design is pretty rubbish all way round I reckon. The newer cars have the more typical type: metal nut and a simple plastic cap outer, tweezer job.

Much easier to torque.

I'm gonna start all over again, with the Febi or try those from alloywheelsandnuts - if their quality looks good.

Ta's all round

Rich
Unfortunately volvo didn't design their own Nuts those are ford ones ...

I ordered a set of the nuts from the place above, and they are pretty impressive.

Seem a lot better than the originals; good finish and easy to torque. Can also get a plastic cap over the top, if needed.

Not bad for 25 quid..
