XC90: TSB for second row seat rattles?

I’ve got the annoying middle seat rattle/squeak. I’ve worked out that it is the seat behind the driver as it goes away if I fold it down. It also goes away if someone sits in the seat. I’ve used PTFE WD40 on all the springs etc that I can find but it won’t stop.

Has anyone seem the TSB issued to Volvo dealers that fixes this and can give me any further ideas what to do? Thanks.

I had a squeak from my second row a couple of years ago. Dealer eventually traced it to the runners and the whole seat needed to be changed. 6 month later the outher outside seat needed replacing for the same reason

The rear seat behind the driver seat on mine rattles too - folding it or having someone sit in it stops it.

Also, it only does this when the seat is all the way back in the runner so I just pull it a couple of notches forwards. Not a solution but it helps until I can get it sorted.

The middle seat cup holders rattle terribly if the arm rest is down - done same on 2 x SPA XC90s I’ve had

Can’t beat the forum. Question is do I put in some padded tape myself or get the dealer to do it?

I had an annoying squeak as well in the same place, in my XC60, with the seats folded down it stopped, someone in back the same.

I eventually traced it to the Isofix bar, push in the two buttons on the seat base and remove the rear seat and have a look at this bar, i found rub marks where it had be coming together, a lick of grease down the side in all the Isofix bars and seat base back in job done, no noise

The bit of grease you see is not doing anything its the side bits that you can't see were rubbing i was just too generous with the grease, good luck

I've had this annoying squeak coming from the offside rear passenger seat (2nd row) for about 6 months - I've (wrongly) put up with it and managed to stop it squeaking by laying the seat flat.

The car has just been in for its 1st annual service, so when I booked it in, I mentioned the problem specifically and told them that it was a known problem and needs fixing. I also reminded the driver who collected my vehicle to mention it to the service desk.

Car came back and all they've done is applied some lubricant - guess what, the seat has started squeaking again after 1 day . So now I am going to have to print off the TJ and take it in to the garage and explain to them that it needs sorting

That TJ was from 2017 so anything newer should be fixed. They did however try the TJ on mine but it turned out to be the runners. Took them about three attempts to find the cause
