in the settings phonebook is possible to check which option is selected (if multiple options):
example:
old version: microphone gain: options to select are "A: Mic. 1" to "A: Mic. 6" and it is not possible to see which one is currently used.
now: microphone gain: the valid (set) value has the "*" char at the end. so if you see for example "A: Mic. 4 *" then it means that gain is set to 4

the options which has only possible to turn ON or OFF (auto playback, contact readout, voice control activation) is now as a toggle option.
example:
old version: you always see the both options "AS: AuPl OFF" and "AS: AuPl ON" and it is not possible to see which one is selected. by the "...OFF" you can turn off auto playback, and by the "...ON" you can turn on auto playback after device is conencted.
now: if the option is turned on then you can see only "AS: AuPl OFF" and if you dial it then you turn it off. if the option is turned off then you can see only "AS: AuPl ON" and if you dial it then you turn it on.
thanks to this the settings phonebook is smaller (a bit) and clearer.

better unicode charset support (even some emoji are supported). this is regarding only android cellphones because the ios (apple) do not use unicode via AT commands and automatically convert them to spaces .

- pre-facelift models with ericsson modem: if ignition changed to off and bact to on within short interval then only "please wait" was shown for a very long time. from time to time the turn ignition off for a longer time was required otherwise it did not start operate

- based on the modem type and baudrate the module hides unsupported radio settings. so the hu-x0x is not possible set to "SAT" and hu-x5x is not possible set to "MD-CHANGER"

Hi Marek,
I live in Norway and bought one of your first bluetooth modules and is very satisfied with it.

I don't do all your upgrades, but from time to time I upgrade the firmware to the newest version.

Some weeks ago, when upgrading from 2018-12-24 1 to 2020-03-24 1, I could not make the phonebook readout work. Tested both M: Cont on and M: Cont off.
I then upgraded back to 2020-03-06 1, before the changes related to phonebook reading (quoted), and now the phonebook reads out perfectly.

Is there some bug there? Must admit I have not testet your newest version 2020-04-06 1

if i remember well then there are not phonebook changes between v2020-03-24 and v2020-04-06. but question is why it does not work. i have tested it on my android (even iphone (but old)) and it is works.
are you able to make some tests (or anybody else who has the same issue)?
if yes the please contact me on marekbm.volvo <at> gmail.com . i will send you an extra firmware and instructions how to tests.

What a lovely product and support. Been using it daily for three years now.
Its been some time since i last updated the firmware, so i did so today. One new feature i noticed and couldt find any info for, was the RS: VoCo. Is this the old RS: VC - voice control?
Maybe you could update that release.doc file so it would be more easy to find firmwareinfo?

And i was curious for thus new AptX bluetooth board. Is it AptX HD? If not HD, is it even possible no notice any differences soundwise that would make it worth upgrading for? ?

Is there any differences between the pcb board revision that would make it worth upgrading at all for me with my old rev.C ? 😊

"RS: VoCo" means Radio Setting - Voice Control. so yes, just renamed. enable voice command by double press "next track" on radio.

regarding aptX:
it is standard aptX. if you have hu-6xx (with external amplifier) or hu-8xx and premium speakers so the best available audio configuration and sensitive ears then i guess that you will hear it.

regarding revision:
only updates are on handsfree part and also parts placement (now they are only on TOP layer). and also renaming and logo changes: my name -> volvocesky -> d5t5.
