To bump this one a bit - for the last 10 days or so I've been doing a round-trip of 3 miles there an 3 miles back, twice per week. So 3 times in 10 days. For the rest, the car's been sitting still on the parking spot, with light snowfall outside (to describe temps). So around 0-3 deg celsius.
I got the low battery warning yesterday, after driving the 3 miles and turning the car off. Then I went on to do a 75 km round trip, mostly open road, to charge the battery a bit, and I didn't get the warning anymore.
Tomorrow I'll be using the car again, so I'll see what it says, the plan is to do another 30-50km round trip to get it time to recharge.
But since it's 5 years old and still on the original battery, do you think the battery should be changed ASAP? Or should I just mark it down to low-usage-and-low-temp situation right now, and wait with the purchase?
