Default So I tried adding usb port **fail**

So was going to fit after market usb in the centre console under arm rest as I only had aux...
Thought I’d hit the jackpot when I found the usb loom after I stripped out the console and armrest, went to Volvo, bought the USB port and plate for arm rest.

I thought bonus if usb worked to stereo but I’d be happy with just usb power....
but nothing!

Stripped all back out to find other end of usb loom hidden in foam with no where to go!

So for anyone who tries it, here’s the end result, doesn’t seem possible unless you replace icm and iam too (and I would assume other parts too! Hey ho, back to aftermarket usb idea

I have a digital voltmeter that is plugged into the 12V socket in the centre console. It incorporates 2 USB sockets. It's body length is short enough that opening/ closing the sliding cover is not hindered when the USB sockets are not being used.

All you need for power is a voltage reg for a 12v feed to a 5v feed and this just the same as the hardwire dash cam kits £10 on eBay

But this just for the power side of things.
