I've been doing loads of drain and fills and it's been going great, slowly cleaning all the crud out
No worries, i tried the sump empty but didnt make any difference, so i went the gibbons route with a twist, when i 1st did it, i used engine oil, dont ask, ive moved on, you should too......

I still have the same issue, but i do think it may have made things smoother when prior to reaching full temp, not that that was too much of an issue anyway, it just feels it some, i would have preferred the harsh changes fixed of course. I have enough left for a 10L flush, will give it a few months 1st i think as i dont travel far (5-6k a year) I must say, i am dreading the warmer months and may bite the bullet and try the additional cooler method....

Thank You for the idea with neo magnets in the power steering reservoir Geoargeandkira

I have done something like this.

I used file filled this plastic blade wt enough to slide magnets and I used hot glue to hold in the position

I also replaced my drain plugs with magnets on engine and transmission.
1. I bought car with this plug with 40k on the clock
2. Replaced with new one but magnes was very weak
3. Neo magnet plug for 16 pounds

On the other pic you can see how much shavings this magnet catched after 30k. W/o magnet solenoids would be probably clogged with this metal

Last pict is oil drain plug

I think I can "outclass" your adaptability and cleverness.

After a pan drop & filter change I replaced my trannie pan with one with a drain plug. However, I forgot to transfer the strip magnet to the new pan.
That's me being clever.

A friend had a super magnet from fighter jet avionics.
So strong was this magnet he'd literally break hunks off for projects.

i.e. A tiny piece glued into position was all he needed to eliminate rusted, failed, fuel flap hardware (pull cable, latch & release) in an old vehicle.

I had a palmful of scraps from this magnet so I just scattered them onto the outside of the pan.
That's me being adaptable.

The PS reservoir dipstick is part of the cap and is a blade of plastic.
Drill a small hole through it above the FULL mark where the plastic is wider.
No drill? Heat a steel wire and melt a hole.
My super magnet is ring shaped....copper is east to bend....done.
Had my magnet been a lump I would've made a basket.

NOTE: My '02 produced more fuzz that the '07.
Haha cool thanks for the tip, I'll try that out!
