Default Removing C30 rear wiper arm

It bugs me that the wiper arm on my wife's C30 parks a few degrees below horizontal, juuuust inside the heating element span, instead of being neatly horizontal.

Can I remove it though to reposition a spline or two further round?
Can I hell!

I have tried everything I can think of short of heating the nut with my heavy duty soldering iron.

1) Applied force. Hopeless.
2) Shock tactics (spanner taking the load then hitting with a lump hammer as hard as I dare). Hopeless.
3) WD40 then repeat both of the above after leaving to stand overnight. Hopeless.
4) Penetrating oil then repeat both of the above after leaving to stand overnight. Hopeless.

Other techniques that have worked for you?

The root cause appears to be corrosion (the nut is covered in white powder, the previous owner having lived near the coast) made worse by the rubber mounting of the wiper assembly absorbing any shock I give it.

You need a wipe arm puller. I got it ages ago and its very usefully. Just clamp it on and tighten it. The arm won't budge straight away leave it tensioned spray some wd40 and it will release its self. I got from eBay for £7.

Thanks, Jaff87. I have at last got the nut itself off (thanks to five or six applications of penetrating oil) but the arm itself is still stuck tight so I've just invested in a wiper arm puller thanks to your tip. It should arrive on Tuesday so I'll give it a go next weekend (likely to be the first opportunity as I will be travelling until then)

The puller arrived on schedule and I had an unexpected gap in my own schedule so gave it a try. Arm popped off straight away. Cheers!
