I have just stripped my overdrive unit down as it had been stood for years and was more than a little stiff to say the least!
I have found no nasty surprises inside which is a relief and am treating it to a full gasket and seal set.
The one thing i am having trouble trying to strip is the plunger for the pump that runs off the cam on the main shaft of the gearbox.
I have both the Volvo green manual and the Haynes but neither really touches on it, they just say that it should ideally be left loose when mating the overdrive back to the gearbox, but i can't do that if i can't even get it apart!
I have the plug off the base, the spring and ball bearing out but how does the next bit come out?
Is it threaded as it does have 2 flats on, but a special tool will be needed to remove it if so!
Can anyone help shed some light on this please!!??
