Newbie with a 145E
Hi All,
I'm Si and have just bought a '72 145 2.0E in need of lots (and lots) of TLC. The first things on my list are a full service kit and battery. I have been looking on eBay but if anyone can suggest cheaper and/or more reliable stuff then all opinions will be gratefully received. Also I have a boot and rear seat full of spares including a good condition bonnet in yellow and some other panels which I haven't had time to sort yet if anyone's interested? I believe one of the doors in my spares haul is from an Amazon. Pics to follow. I'm based in Gloucestershire and wondered if there are any other members local to me, Cheers, Si |

Hi Si and welcome to the wonderful world of 145 ownership!
I am down in Dorset (between Ringwood and Bournemouth) so not that close, but not a million miles away either! I have used Brookhouse Volvo for all my parts and have had excellent service from them everytime and the parts have always arrived next day! I may be interested in the bonnet you mentioned if it will suit my 1970 145?

Hi Guys,
OK I'll push the monster back out of my garage and take some more pics (including the spare bonnet WPR). It came jam packed full of spares. The car was bought from Danny Hopkins. Top bloke and editor of Practical Classics magazine so classic car royalty in my eyes Thanks for the tips on spares, I'm on leave for three weeks now so hoping to get him fired up soon ready for the bodywork, Cheers Si |

Hello Si, and welcome to classic Volvo ownership. Amazon cars are indeed helpful and reliable. Spares for your 145 should be fairly plentiful. I live nearby in Stroud. This year I believe the VOC are going to be at Calne motor museum- hope to see you there!

Hi Si
I'm new to 140 Series too, live in Bristol, so not that far. There's a chap called Tony Barrett on here - aka The Old Volvo Man, I believe he recently broke a 145 Cheers |

Thats an really unusual color for a 145 1972!!!
I didnt even know it was an option for the estate that year, but on 1973 its not that uncommon for the injection model! I never saw a picture of that before and i have most of the broachures from 1967-1974 both swedish and "foreign" I hope you take good care of that beautiful car Erik in Sweden |

Many congratulations on the van.
You have some work to do but worth it. The vans are much more recoverable than 145 cars. Even for more being a rare version with injection engine.
