Default C70 driver seat not sliding forward

I have a 00 C70 T5. I have only had the car a few weeks and have a few silly problems i am trying to resolve. One of them is the drivers seat will not slide forward when you lift the lever. The backrest goes down but the seat itself will not slide forward. I have looked at the mechanism underneath the seat but cannot see anything amiss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi again Chrisneill,

Maybe a silly question so apologies.

When you say the backrest goes down, do you mean it goes down when you lift the lever to move the seat forwards / backwards? Which lever are you lifting?

On the 850 there's a lever at the side for raising / lowering the front and back ot the seat base, a bar under the front of the seat to move it backwards and forwards and a windy wheel to adjust the backrest.

Regards

Andy

>Andy it is the arm on the side of the seat. What it is supposed to do is when you raise the arm, the back rest tilts forward. Whilst the backrest moves forward the bar underneath the seat should go up which enables you to push the seat forward. It is the bar underneath the seat going up to enable the forward movement that is not happening. Hope this makes sense. Thanks Chris>

Does your car have the electric memory seats?

To get the seats to drive forward you have to lift the lever and then tilt the backrest *fully* forward.

It sometimes takes a couple of goes, especially if the seat hasn't been moved for a while. Also, make sure the seat is fully 'home' - I've had the odd false start when the passenger seat has been left mid-position.

I think some of the earlier cars also had problems with the switch becoming disconnected. If searching here doesn't turn anything up, have a look in the C70 forum over at www.swedespeed.com. IIRC, there's been a few posts on the subject.

>> Ooops - didn't see your last post until I submitted this one.

>Unfortunately it does not have memory seats. The passenger side is fine, I have read the manual and followed it to the letter. As I tilt the backrest forward I have looked underneath for the bar moving upwards but there is nothing. Thanks for the info on the other website. Chris
