What a waste.

Your translation is very much along the lines of what i was thinking - i suspect he was tipped the wink at the last MoT that it would cost £Arms & Legs for the next MoT and didn't want to spend anything.

I paid about 400 for mine which looks just about as scruffy as that but without the corrosion and crash damage.

It's good enough for the girls I go out with.

I've owned 6 (I think, currently in a V40 T4) and each cost around that and they lasted for ages so there's no reason to let one go this far before selling it on.

Just a waste, plain and simple - rather like the cars that were scrapped with the last gov't scrappage scheme a few years ago - great cars that could have lasted ages, crushed and thrown away.

Yeah I agree - I bought it off a guy who was going to use it for a stag do and then scrap it, that was 2.5 years ago, been my daily since, given me at least 20,000 good miles.

It's in good mechanical condition, just the seats and door cards are knackered. The paint is awful but that's because I resprayed it to get rid of any rust patches, regardless I like the way it looks, and hope to have a good few more years out of ol' Violet.

With some good luck and fingers crossed on the news front, I'll be taking it down to Lisbon and back in October =D

I won't be bidding now, it is going to go for way too much then I've got to factor in the cost of transporting it which will be a couple hundred. Shame as that could have yielded some really good parts, I can't believe how much the bids are on.

Yes, crazy price and 5 days still to go!

I would of thought £300 max as a parts car! I certainly wouldn't buy it with all of its issues to put it back on the road. Buyer should just buy a nicer example.
