I've always gone for Varta's (MB OE) but the Yuasa has a higher CCA rating, 5 year guarantee and members on the MB forum seem to rate them.

I do wonder whether you can fit a higher capacity battery to the XC60? The battery tray seems to be designed to accommodate a bigger battery and maybe in colder climates they do fit an uprated unit (they certainly do with Mercs). With a bigger battery it might resolve some of the low battery charge issues when listening to the radio!
Yeah I am going to look at a larger capacity one, I like the look of the Yuasa one, Yuasa recommend a YBX9096 £105, 70ah 760CCA, but the larger YBX9115 is 80Ah, 800CCA and only a few quid dearer £119, and is only 29mm longer. So I am going to get one of them.

Let us know how you get on with fitting it, i.e. are the cables long enough, mounting bracket, etc. as I would like to upgrade mine when it requires replacing.

Great price by the way. Who was that with? Tayna?

FWIW, my 2013 V70 D4 (163 / 5-cyl, with S/S) has an AGM battery. I'm pretty sure it's original...

I don't think Volvo's OEM batteries are poor at all. I've had several which have lasted 10+ years. I sold my last V70, still fitted with its original battery at 400k miles.

cheers

James

I'm sure my battery's fine. It's obviously the BMS that's not quite right. Not sure who makes Volvo's batteries unlike Merc where it's crystal clear they are Varta. I haven't got round to fitting the Yuasa to the Merc but it still has the original MB/Varta battery which is now 15 years old! Starts fine but pd was around 12V during the winter which suggests it's on it's last legs.

Did you get round to fitting the Yuasa? If so I'd be interested to know if it fitted OK.
