Volvo V60 2012 High Mileage ?
Hi All,
I'm a newbie to volvo's, always loved them but never had the chance to own one. I now have the oppotunity. Its a V60, R Design, looks amazing, FSH, had a look at the mot's and only really had tyre issues, the main problem is its covered 150K, it is a Diesel. Is this okay ? There seems to be quite a few for sale, but all over 100k, I've always gone way below 100, but this is my first diesel, and looking everywhere, diesel when well looked after can last for ever. Any help would be appreciated |

The problem isn't necessarily the engine, but all the other bits - the suspension, electrical items, just general wear and tear, but that can make ownership worrying - if it's cheap, then you'll feel like you got a bargain right up until you don't !!

It's a Volvo, at 100k they're only just run in. If the price is right then go for it. If you can afford more then look for a lower mileage one.

Just taken my V60 D5 MY2013 past 168k having picked it up at 102k.
Clutch, battery, one wheel bearing and rear shocks in that time. Coming up to a new set of front shocks and bushes, but otherwise great!

Got 133k on my V60 2012 R design. Its tight as a drum and definitely not showing any signs if its mileage in the slightest....

I have a 62 plate V60 D3 R Design, bought it 2 years ago with 75k, it’s done just over 130k. Aside from usual servicing, I’ve had to do timing belt, DPF and front discs with pads all round. When fitting DPF the Lamda?... sensor needed replacing but that issue was only picked up on main dealer machines. Other than that...touch wood, it’s going alright

The later 1.6 diesel is a good engine.
The issue is not so much bore wear etc. The issue is bearings, idlers, tensioner etc etc etc. All of these you are going to fix for £xx. As a competent home mechanic I would buy it, but if you are booking into a garage walk away! Your callipers are likly to fail. For a competent home mechanic that’s a £20.00 fix each usually. In a independent it won’t be less than £200! Bearings and bushes again will be £20 each but £150 at an Indi |
