Default Pre-Purchase Inspection for XC90

My wife and I are looking at 2 particular XC90s priced at ~7k and intend on having a pre-purchase inspection for the car we're interested in the most. As we're talking about an XC90, would an RAC/AA inspector be sufficient or would I need to consult a specialist?

I would check service history and mot history online. You could do with someone that knows them if possible. I got a 61 redesign for 5k plus my 06 s80. It has cost me a grand in repairs so still a fair price. Main things are gearbox and 4 wheel drive. If they are OK then the rest isn't too awful providing the engine has been serviced. If you were in North West I could recommend someone.

Make sure whoever inspects it is able to get it wheels free in the air. A lot of dealers won't let the AA, RAC etc use their workshop ramps because of insurance conflicts, and that limits how effectively they can properly inspect steering, suspension, corrosion, etc.

Good luck.
