I do not know what year XC90 you have

So I'm using mine as a reference: MY2009

The factory microphone is a single-core shielded cable connected directly to the amplifier

Pin B:16 = signal (mic +ve), white wire, the inner of the shielded cable
Pin B:6 = shield (mic -ve), the braid (shield) of the shielded cable.

The shielded cable goes directly to the microphone, which is likely an electret mic, although I do not know for sure.

1. How do I identify those wires.
2. Once I have can I just wire them into a jack and then run that to the stereo?

I gave you everything you need to identify the wires: connector name (B), pin numbers, wire type (shielded wire) and wire colours.

If you still cannot figure out what I am referring to, then it is time to stop, and to call in a friend or professional who can understand pin numbers and wire colours, and knows what a shielded cable is.

You can extend the shielded cable with another shielded cable, get some at your local hobby electronics shop.

This is the exact setup I’m after. Looks great!

Where did you get your facia plate from and are you happy with the fit?

I’m not confident enough to do the install myself, is there anyone you’d recommend in the north west that could do it?

Really happy with it. Has changed the whole experience of the car TBH. All ordered off a well known auction site but installed it myself. So not sure about people in the NW. Didn’t take more than a few hours
