OBD2 Torque app F/T 1x1 and F/T 1x2 etc
Hi all,
On a 1998 V70 T5 ... I am finally getting to grips with the free Torque app (with a cheap ebay OBD2 dongle). I just want to keep the car running well with standard factory settings. I am tracking LTFT1 Fuel Trim Bank 1 Long Term F/T 1x1 Fuel Trim bank 1 sensor 1 F/T 1x2 Fuel Trim bank 1 sensor 2 MAF Mass Air Flow Rate Coolant temperature O2 1x1 O2 Volts Bank 1 sensor 1 O2 1x2 O2 Volts Bank 1 sensor 2 Throttle Boost Q1. Are sensors 1 and 2 the sensors the Upstream and Downstream O2 sensors in the cat? Q2. Anything else I should be watching? Thanks Steve

FYI if it's m4.4 (throttle cable) I don't think you can monitor boost as the only map sensor is the one near the headlight to determine atmospheric pressure. Me7 cars have a map sensor in the intake pipework just before the etm which can monitor boost.

Hi Ac
Hmm, yes it has a throttle cable. I'll look at the Boost gauge and see if it moves! Steve

Hi ac
Boost varies between -12 psi and +22 psi (I think but could it have been 30?), (in step with engine load). Not sure which sensor is picking that up! Steve

On mine (not remapped), from the stack boost gauge sat on the dash it will pull down to 20 inhg vacuum then boost varies, 1st gear is limited to 10psi, other gears it hits 12psi but because mine is an auto it spikes the boost on gear changes to about 15-20 psi (hard to be exact without recording it as it happens quickly).
I suppose your app might be getting the "demand" for the boost control solenoid from the engine ecu. If you want to watch boost/vacuum then it is easy to fit a mechanical gauge and a vac line which you can connect to one of the spare ports on the vac tree by the throttle body. If you have not had it remapped and are hitting 30psi then something is wrong and the engine won't last very long...but will be very rapid though.

Hi Andrew,
I haven't had it remapped. Will check boost again and hope that it's not getting to 30. Does your 1998 S70 T5 have a standard boost gauge on the dash? Was that a common option? If I find one in a scrappy it is easy to fit? Steve

Only the 850's came with factory boost gauge's on the dash.
Mine is a stack aftermarket one.
