Default 07 S80 suspension settings

I've changes from an S60 to an 07 S80 SE Lux. It's a lovely big car, but it's very soft and jiggly. Do any forum members agree, and is there a good remedy?

Same for me, MY 2011 D4 automatic suspension feels way softer than any Audi or BMW i have used before. I have no idea of how can this be fixed. Seems like that's the way it is. I have also checked suspension with Volvo dealer and all systems are in good shape.

Isn't that the whole point of buying an s80? Seems to me to be lunacy to build a "luxury" car and then give it the ride (lack of) quality of a hot hatch?

In fairness, a basic spec 5 series on standard suspension and small wheels rides very well. Just that you see very few of them that way...

It is about suspension not small wheels. Wheels has nothing to do with suspension. You can either have 215/60/17 or 245/40/18 tire size, suspension will stay the same. Ride changes true, but that's a different discussion. In my opinion suspension is too soft and i am not talking about comfort only but more worried in case of emergency situation when suspension can help a lot.

apart from changing your springs and shocks, I don't think there's much else you can do.

Our car has Four-C which is fantastic, just expensive to replace parts when the time comes.

Well, yes. That's what drove me away from a Sport model. But I just didn't realise how soft the SE was. I guess my actual query is what set-up to change to. I think my 07 SE has too much suspension travel. I have no issue with the damping. It's just that the thing rocks about too much.
I do believe later models are lower. Can anyone confirm that?
Maybe aftermarket lowering springs (say 30mm) might help? About £150.

TBH i wouldn't expect that S80 could lack so bad in suspension. I have had a XC90 MY 2008 before but that one feels much better even tires were 255/50/19. I have also an Audi A8 W12 MY2005 and the difference when i switch from S80 to Audi is huge. Audi even with 275/35/20 tires can handle comfort and suspension way better. I was going to get the 245/40/18 R-design rims with tires for S80 but i think that could be a wrong choice. Comfort will be worse and definitely suspension will hurt a lot.

Can anyone confirm if the S80 suspension settings were changed after the initial 07 models were introduced?

I'd like to know out of curiosity what size wheels you have and what make/model tyres?

I think it was either 09MY or 10MY that introduced two new chassis configurations. Sport or Comfort along with the optional Four-C.
