Partly because it already has stone chips so I'd prefer a new screen, and partly because I suspect going to the dealers will be much more of a hassle (eg taking a day off work etc), especially as I don't have any pre-existing relationship.

62 reg XC60 D5 AWD with all the trimmings. Car bought from Volvo Selekt with 1 year warranty in Bishops Stortford - deeply unimpressed with service received.

Obviously long tem problem as handbook was previously waterlogged and dried out - BS dealer tried to tell me it was probably a bottle of water that leaked in glove compartment.

A week after purchase - water running down the inside of the windscreen -

Going into to Cobridge Volvo [Oxford] next week for a windscreen replacement - no quibbles at all.

One would have thought that with all the stringent checks made to ensure the vehicle meets the Volvo Select standard that the screen bonding would be checked as a matter of course, especially as it is a known problem.

So, I got confirmation from VCUK that they will pay for the re-bonding, although when I mentioned who would pay if the screen cracked while been removed, they suggested that I would, as that would normally only happen if the screen has some chips or small cracks, which mine doesn't. What I didn't ask (as I didn't want to push it, at the moment) is if they should be responsible for all the water marks left on the roof lining, and what happens if I was to get any electrical issues as result of the water ingress, although I'm sure they would make it impossible for me to prove it. Has anyone got anything more than the re-bonding, and has anyone had any electrical issues as a result of the water ingress?
Cheers.

After all the rain this week the small dribble down both sides of the windscreen turned into a swimming pool in the ns foot well and drips from the top of the trim between the pillar and the head lining.

Off to the dealer who have been servicing my car hoping for help to solve this well known problem.

Well their reaction was never heard really of this but you can book it in for one to two days of testing at a cost of £90 before we ask Volvo to pay for this!

If I have to pay for this repair what have you paid and which company do you recommend?

2009 model had this issue when I bought it 3 years ago, I took it straight back to the seller and they had the screen rebonded at their cost, if it happens again it will be replaced under my car insurance after accidentally being hit by a flying pheasant.
