Volvo Air con issue ANYONE?

Does the a/c pulley on a volvo v70 make a rattling noise when engaged/not engaged ? Noticed the rattle today when parked up with engine running .

So, what is the likely cause please and how to fix, can't find anything on you You Tube videos .

My first thought would be a failing AC pulley bearing.
There's definitely videos showing the replacement of one of those.
Maybe not on Volvos but most AC compressors work on the same principles so you'll get an idea of scale of the work required.

Another question !! IF this bearing completely fails would it wreck the Serpentine belt, maybe leave the a/c off ? until I can get a bearing ! Gotta pick some friends up from Alicante Tuesday, would appear to be a hot drive !!

The bearing is inbetween the pulley and the shaft of the compressor.
It's spinning when the compressor is disengaged.

Just checked and found it is only noisy if the a/c is on ,so maybe able to get a bearing next week sometime and leave the a/c off, I also looked on the compressor and it is a genuine Volvo number --- 383E 138535 could anybody cross reference this number to what size bearing is required . Thanks.

So the pulley is spinning when the compressor is Disengaged , of course, so why no rattling noise until a/c switched on, is it because the bearing is then under load ? Would still like a part number for the bearing so the Solitary spares shop can cross reference !
