A/C goes warm when stopped
I have an '08 XC70 with an interesting A/C issue.
If I am stopped the A/C doesn't cool, but moving, even 20-30mph cools just fine. I have a manifold gauge and static pressures seem to indicate enough refrigerant in the system and there are no issues with the compressor clutch being activated. I noticed that the fans don't always stay on, even though the compressor is spinning away. Not sure if this is intended, or an issue. Running, the low side drops to 50 psi and the high side goes to 160 psi or there abouts (75F day). Seems like the compressor is being a bit lazy. If that was the case I'd expect that running the engine revs up would start the car cooling again (just like if I were moving), but that is not so. The only way I can get cold air is to be driving along. As long as I am moving I am getting cold enough air to cool the car on the 90F afternoon we had today. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. |
