Modern cars!!! Might need a trip to the dealer, to many variables, it’s probably a lot more complex than it needs to be.

Can you rig the old one up off car with a battery, use a screw driver to stand in for the hasp?

I've tried the screw driver test with the lock in situ. The motor doesn't engage but it does lock if I push the screw driver in, and pressing the button on the lid unlocks and releases the screwdriver.

Perhaps it's a sequence of pressing the button to close the boot that engages it. I am sure the lock motor works as it sometimes engages, just not too sure what causes it to engage.

Was really hoping to avoid trip to the dealer as it would be really expensive trip to diagose something like this...

So I did notice after adjusting one of the bump stops to lowest level that the boot now needs a little help when opening.

I believe the bump stops have some impact on the powered boot, but can’t find any information online on adjustment guides.

Does anyone here happen to have access to Volvo service manual regarding adjustment of boot bumps stops please?

To add the boot lock actuator engages when I manually close the boot, but not when I use the button to close

Id screw them both in as far as possible and work back until you get to a point where is closes and sits right.
