Estate exterior bright work
Hi Guys,
My estate will be finished getting painted soon and have started trying to get the bright work together. Some of the bright work on the car will come up nice with a polish but there is also quite a bit I'd like to replace so if anyone has any new or used in good condition please let me know. The items I'm particularly after are: Door handles Rear upper tailgate hinges Quarter windows chrome parts Front windscreen and rear window chrome trims Bumpers Gutter mouldings Bonnet front moulding and lettering Headlight and indicator surrounds - also after indicator glass as well Complete reflectors Cheers, Mitch |

Hi,
Yep I've contacted Simon. I'm just finalising my list and will be getting a price from Simon, VP Auto Autoparts and Scandcar NL. But I'm blowing my budget already and looking to save some costs where I can and the price for the brightwork, all seals and interior is scary expensive when all added up so am hoping that someone may have some good bits and bobs they'd sell me at a reasonable price. :-) Cheers, Mitch Last edited by Burdekin; Jul 10th, 2011 at 20:00. |

IIRC, the hinges are brass (rather than the cheap alloy that was often used for chromed castings '50s / '60s cars), so could be re-chromed relatively easily.

Hi Mitch, I have door handles and I am sure I could find reasonable ones. Are they the same as the saloon? Also have new front windscreen trim but they are £105 new so would need a reasonable price for that but there would still be a saving. PM me. Sorry I don't have any dedicated Estate stuff.

Mitch-
What wing windows are you looking for? There were at least three iterations. Yes, they are interchangable but the knobs/latches are different. You want the two sides of your car to the same. 'Rear window molding'? The rubber seal or the alumn. trim? I assume alumn trim since you said 'bright work' in your subject. I might have good used.... I think I have some hinges and will look this evening. Chris |

Hi Chris,
The quarter glass window is from a 66 estate and is chromed, sorry don't know anymore than that. Do you know the differenecs. If you have a good pair I would be keen. Also keen for a good rear aluminium trim for the station wagon rear window and rear chrome hinges. Please let me know how you get on. Cheers, Mitch |

The door handles would be the same. Even the two door's are the same with the handles to the rear doors (of a four door or wagon) simply having a solid button where the front handles had the lock cylinder...
