Default volvo v70 classic 2000 srs fuse

Hello
I have a problem with the srs light staying on. Have had it read and reset by mechanic but it read no codes. It stayed on for a while but came back on. I have removed fuse 36 but light remains on. Are there any other fuses that I need to remove? Any suggestions please.
thanks

You can remove the bulb by dropping the panel below and reaching up, bit fiddly, but once you've done it it's a easy to replace.
SRS light non functional is I think an MOT failure as is staying on. You need someone with Dice to read the code on yours...or the stealers.
I think I'm right in saying - not all readers will communicate with the SRS or Transmission (on an auto), but stand to be corrected.

hi, have you hovered under the drivers seat, you may have a loose connection under the seat, thats norm what happens, taking the bulb out will still fail mot, since the new rules came out, so dont see the point in doing that, try un plugging the plug under the seat and re connect it ,might sort it

You need access to Volvo VIDA software running a computer connected to the cars OBD-II port using a DiCE unit, a generic OBD-II reader will only scan the ECU for codes, it won't access the SRS system.

Look under both front seats for a two pin purple/ green connector, this is the plug for the airbag system, there will also be a two pin grey connector under the drivers seat which is for the seat belt buckle signal, if this is disconnected it can also trigger the SRS caption, you can check under the passenger seat for the two pin grey plug as some cars have this fitted to both front seats but not all.

If you find a plug disconnected only re-connect it with the battery disconnected, once re-connected you will still need VIDA/ DiCE to reset the system - Mike

You disconnect the car battery prior to disconnecting any SRS component, if a connector has come away I would also disconnect the battery prior to reconnecting any SRS component.

Little point in disconnecting plugs that are secure as that won't achieve anything - Mike
