That’s written in them all as they all have auto high beam. The ones with Adaptive shadow don’t have it written.

Ah right, looks to operate in a similar fashion though

Ingenious shading mechanism
When an oncoming car approaches or when catching up with another car from behind, the system helps to prevent dazzling of the other driver by shading out only as much of the beam as necessary.

Active High Beam Control uses the camera already used for the detection and auto brake systems located by the rear-view mirror at the top of the windscreen to identify the other vehicle and the area that needs to be shaded. The technology is accurate enough to frame the chosen object with only a 1.5° margin.

I got caught out with the auto dipping high beam, we were driving along a country lane with high beam on doing around 50mph when suddenly drove into a think fog bank on the top of a steep climb (Fromes Hill on the A4103). Obviousley the high beam stayed on blinding us until i manually turned it back to dip beam..it was a scary few seconds.

I have a 2016 XC90 on air and noticed the other night that the headlights were putting out a high beam when driving in fog is there a way to lower the beam ?

If you need to ask how to operate a basic function of a car perhaps you shouldn’t be driving it!

You’ll know if you’ve got it, it’s really obvious. You can see it dipping in part depending where the oncoming vehicle is. It’s a really cool 😎 feature.👍
