Default Help - Wing Mirror for V70 2003 (04 MDY)

Help!!

Volvo direct are quoting me silly prices, volvopartsonline (who are just brilliant) say they can't get what i need, so what do i do??!!

I have the mirror glass and rear cover (thank you partsonline!!) but now it turns out i can only get the "chassis" bit with motor from Volvo.

Some B*****d wipes out my mirror and it is costing me a fortune!! I have a old style door mirror fitted but this is the wrong shape!!! At least it is a mirror so i can see next to me again to overtake!!

Any ideas or suggestions will be gratefully received

Hi, I'm suffering the same hassle on my 2003 V70 (see my post of yesterday under 'fitting new mirror motor'.

I was able to order the motor independently from my Volvo dealer but the problem comes in trying to fit it. As you have a 2003 car, assume you have the 3 lugs in the shell which line up with the holes on the motor (earlier years apparantly had three screws to hold the motor in)? See my other post for the gory details but so far no one knows how to fix the motor onto these lugs. Haynes manual refers to clips but none visible in the shell or came with the motor or show up on Volvo parts diagram for the whole mirror assembly.

If you order motor and find out how to fix it, let me know! Don't know why they changed from the screws- would have been so much easier!
