Default Distributor Cap/Rotor Arm Change Interval?

850r/T5/70R etc - what are the official service intervals on these items and/or what time/mileage do you choose to change them?? Just the cap/rotor

50,000 miles, but check them when you're doing plugs (30,000 miles) as they can make a big difference to how the car runs, especially as the engine gets older and more worn.

Not sure on the service side but the answer won't be far away!

Just one point regarding quality- particularly rotor arms- go for the recognised brand Beru/Bosch and you should be trouble free.

You have the highest quality distributor cap and rotor arm in the business , volvo demand the specification from Bosch . A porsche one may look the same and fit but it will not have the electrical insulation properties of the Volvo one .

I would clean it and put it back on ... Unless you have misfire problems where someone has fitted a cheap basic one somewhere in it's past history ..

I was just wondering really on change interval as I couldn't see it in the Volvo service literature. Previous owner did cap/Rotor/leads 36k miles ago, so I'll leave the former two for at least another 12k. Did plugs with Iridium ones only 15k ago, so no worries there. Cheers BTW!

There was never a change interval for the Cap or rotor arm due to what I said above , there are many 850s still on their original parts today ..

Do you have any misfire or starting problems?

Given the markings between the lead ports - I have no reason to believe it's not one of these:
