Default wishbone ball joint dust cover!

Does anyone know if there are replacement dust covers for the bottom wishbone ball joint. It has failed the MOT on the rubber dust cover being split. I removed the arm yesterday, then went on the internet to try to get a replacement but can't seem to find one that would fit.

The pin that fits the small hole in the cover is 19mm and the large diameter that fits the large hole in the cover is 32mm. I have ordered one that is 19mm and 28mm holes but not sure it will stretch enough to fit 32mm. I hope i have explained this well enough and that someone may know of a solution.

Thanks

Default Ball Joint Boot

This seems to fit the size you are looking for (the medium).

There seems to be plenty of stretch and maybe the one you have already ordered will fit.

I know that these are not usually available for modern cars as the market is for complete replacement assemblies these days, but the classic car people are often on a budget and dislike throwing away a perfectly good assembly that only needs a small / cheap part to keep it going. Looked on my old employer's website but was down for maintenance so Googled and was astounded to have a result with the first hit.

Be interested to know how you get on.

Thanks for that Turbo, The ones i have ordered may not be the stretchy sort, as it didn't give a range of sizes it would fit. If the one i ordered doesn't fit, i will try those. I am also mindful that i only have ten working days to sort it out and the car is off the road while we speak!!

Beware that a lot of these replacement boots are of very poor quality and don't last very long. I've read posts where they haven't survived to the next MOT.
If there is anyone who has replaced the arm complete and the old one has good boots on, remove and pass on to Dean if he wants them.

The annoying thing is, I replaced a bottom arm on my other car only a Month or so ago because of movement in the solid rubber bushes. It had a good rubber boot on it!

I kept the old arm for a couple of weeks in my scrap metal pile, only to throw it out two weeks ago because the local scrap merchant is shut due to Covid!!

Just wrap some self amalgamating tape round the original boot, if done properly will outlast the car

Unfortunately the boot had completely disintegrated. I only replaced the whole arm about two years ago! I've got the arm off now so fitting a boot will be straight forward.

Just an update on the dust cover. I ordered two different sizes. The one i got to fit was with a 20mm top hole and a 30mm bottom hole. There was a slight gap at the top but held together once i put the metal clip back on. Stretching the bottom over to fit was a bit of a struggle but all is well and only £3.50
