Default V70 T5 Exhaust Advice

Hi

Odd question but, does anyone know the difference between a 2003 s60 t5 exhaust and a 2005 V70 T5 exhaust. Reason for asking is i have a chance of a cheap jetex cat back system from a S60 and it looks identical to the V70 one, apart from maybe the length. I dont have the exhaust to hand to measure it. Maybe it could be modded to fit as i don't want to spend over £500 on a new one

Thanks for any advice

Over the past few days I have been doing research on a possible downpipe purchase for my V70 AWD R. During this time I have read many articles on many different sites., but a web question/discussion about what you plan to do has been recalled.
Can't remember which way round it was, but when someone fitted a S60 exhaust to a V70 ( or vis versa) the car became noted as "the Tank" due to the exhaust sticking so far out of the rear of the vehicle.
Additionally, I seen to recall, the swap was possible, but only if you "doctored" the system, and had the ability to do so.
All in all IIRC it was not a swap that was recommended..

Cheers
Bob

Probably trying to fit a v70 exhaust onto a S60.
The difference in length between the estate and saloon might be the factor.

Just found an exhaust built by ipd.
They list it as S60 and v70.
It's telescopic, you adjust the length to suit.
So it seems they must be the same apart from the length .

Many of the down pipes I saw were from USA including this site. Not quite what I wanted but a USA purchase scared me too. If you proceed I'd be very interested to hear about your experiences both in order /delivery and fitting /noise.
Cheers bob.

Is the rear subframe identical on the S60 and V70 ? If possible, I would rather look for a used exhaust from the breakers. The original ones are quite durable after the catalytic converter except for the brackets. New aftermarket ones can be a gamble, even the genuine replacement has been blamed for v short life span

There is a difference in the overall length which can be accommodated by reducing the length of the V70 pipe between the middle box and the back box: the bore is the same across a wide range of models and "petrol" systems fit the diesels and vv.
If you want a comparative system chart look at this link which has a link to a European supplier https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-V70...53.m1438.l2649 you can be used as a system checker to identify the correct system for your model.
The system I advertised last year is still for sale if you are interested.
