Default 2006 V70 2.4 D5 Diesel, Cam belt.

My cam belt was last changed 5.5 years ago and its done 43000 miles, it says in the handbook to get it done every 6 years or every 108000 miles, should I get it done right away six months early or is it okay to leave for a couple of months?

I was under the impression that the interval for the cam belt was 10 years or 108k, whichever comes first. That may well be the case on later euro 4 D5 models only though.

That's what I originally though, but looking in the service book and which applies to my model, it says every 6 years or 108000 miles

In the book it says Euro III (3) V70's are every 8 years at 100,000 while the Euro IV (4), which is my model, every 6 years or at 108,000.

My Dad has a euro 4 V70 (newer shape, P3 chassis) & the interval is 10 years or 108,000 miles (whichever comes first).

Maybe someone could clarify if the older shape (P2, like yours) has a different interval... I'm not 100% sure.

I'd be inclined to go by what your owner's manual says though, unless it was printed wrong!

Owners manual defo says 108,000 miles or 6 years.

So should I get it done right away as I am at the Five and a half year mark and have done 43000 since last belt change or should it be okay for a couple of months (as still within the 6 year mark)

how much difference does it make, change it now or change in 6 months. either way it needs doing and will most likely outlast the car

I made the mistake once of thinking i'll leave that till later. the engine became a paperweight literally within the week

ok that was a vectra so I wasn't particularly disappointed lol but that's not the point
