Default S40 wing mirror cover fitting problem

Hi all, just replacing my drivers side wing mirror cover...

Any tips to snapping this on correctly please?

I put the bottom on first, and then the left side (furthest from window) snaps in at the top, then I just can't get the side closest to the window to snap in at the top, even though I can almost get it flush with the surround, but it doesn't snap in and got a small gap which will pass water through I'm sure. It's tight on but not convinced it will stay on during a bumpy journey!!

Am I missing something?

Thanks
Ben

This is a link to Volvo's instructions. I had to press quite firmly to get it to click into place.

it can the tough. I put the bottom in first, then start from the side closest to the window and work out, this is because that side has less flex in it, a bit of brute force and ignorance is required.

Thanks both, it seems maybe the clip closest to the inside is damaged, so it seems a no go... On reflection I don't think it's going anywhere, so I will just have to hope it stays put!

Put a small dab of silicon in the middle, this will hold it but still let you remove it further down the line
